About Us

Village Baptist Church is a bible believing Church.  We believe in the sole authority of the Bible in matters of faith and practice.  We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and that it is inerrant in all of its message and content.  The Bible was written by men who were under the guidance and leadership of the Holy Spirit.  We believe the entire 66 books of the Bible to be inspired and profitable for our instruction, correction and edification.  II Timothy 3:16-17.  We also believe that the Bible must be interpreted correctly through Grammatical Historical Exegesis.  We do not believe in the literal interpretation of the Bible in all passages.  We believe that Christians cannot grow without a daily reading of and meditation on the word of God. We believe in the TRINITY.  We believe in the One True God. In the God-head, there are three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  The three persons are co-eternal, co-equal, and co-existent.  There are no degrees in the God-head.  The three are the same in substance, equal in power and glory! We believe in the divinity and humanity of Jesus the Christ.  He is truly God and truly Man.  We believe that Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried and he rose on the third day according to Scripture.  Jesus is the ONLY authoritative exegete of God.  John 1:1ff We believe that salvation is by GRACE ALONE.  Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5.  No one can be saved by works and no one can be saved without total trust in the sacrificial and substitutionary atonement on the cross.  There is only one way to God, that way is through Jesus Christ his only Son.  John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.  Other doctrinal position of the church can be obtained through the Southern Baptist Convention or in the official Baptist Faith and Message of the SBC.

Mission Statement

Village Baptist Church exists to win people to Christ and develop them into active disciples: equipping them to serve as ministers in the church, community, and around the world, leading them to worship God in spirit and truth.

Vision Statement

I hope that all affiliated with our church will make Evangelism our number one priority. I hope that, as a church, we will continue to reach the Bay Area and West Africa for Christ. Matthew 28:19-20 is our guide in the mission of our church. I would love to, one day, have all members of the congregation involved in ministry. My vision is to lead a church where everyone is truly in ministry. There are no spectators in a true church of Jesus Christ.

Convention Affiliation

We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the California State Baptist Convention of the SBC, and our associational affiliation is with the Golden Hills Baptist Association.
