Team Ministry

Team Ministry Concept

The team ministry concept is based on the body life analogy. The church is a body.

Teams work together to accomplish the stated mission of the church. The whole church is a team.

Even though we have several teams, all teams work together for the common goal. These are the present teams at Village Baptist Church.

All teams work with the pastor to accomplish the mission of the church.

Team Owner: God
Team Coach or Manager: Pastor
Team Assistant Coaches: Team Leaders
Team Players: Team Members

Rules for Team Membership
  1. You must be an active covenant member of the church.
  2. You must be convinced or demonstrate that your spiritual gift(s) works well in the chosen team.
  3. You must attend team meetings on a regular basis. Unexcused absences will disqualify a team member. Team meetings are very important and should be attended by those who consider themselves tem members. Ministries that are done outside of the teams will not be recognized as official Village Baptist Church ministries. Those who represent this church must be covenant members.
General Team Guidelines
  1. Team leaders should meet at least once a month to discuss and plan for the success of the team.
  2. Each team should meet at least once a month. This meeting can be held anywhere convenient for team members.
  3. You should read your team guidelines at each meeting.
  4. You should plan your tasks for the month or the following month at your scheduled meetings.
  5. Non-active team members should be given notice as soon as they are considered non-active. The pastor should also be informed. Team members who are not being faithful to their church covenant MUST BE APPROACHED, GIVEN A CHANCE TO CHANGE, OR/AND REMOVED.
  6. Team ministry is not limited to what Village Baptist Church is presently doing. Any ministry will be explored as long as the one proposing the ministry is willing to do it without any help. For example, if you propose a prison visitation ministry...you must be willing to do it alone under the supervision of the Ministry Team until others who feel a calling or "gifting" in that ministry joins your team.
  7. If you have any suggestions on our team ministry, please do not hesitate to contact the pastor.
